The Gate was established in 1989 by Michael and Adrian Daniel, 2 brothers with no formal training who knew nothing about running a restaurant, they just knew what they liked to eat and that food should be celebrated. They opened their first restaurant in Hammersmith and now have 3 more locations in London: Islington, Marylebone, and St John’s Wood.
