Our Story

The Gate was established in 1989 by Michael and Adrian Daniel, 2 brothers with no formal training who knew nothing about running a restaurant, they just knew what they liked to eat and that food should be celebrated. They opened their first restaurant in Hammersmith, then in Islington while they were refurbishing their first restaurant. The Gate now has a third location in Marylebone with a fourth restaurant restaurant opening in 2019.

At The Gate, we love making wonderful food & exceeding our customers’ expectations. We create inspiring vegetarian and vegan food for everyone to enjoy time and time again. Our goal is to share the infinite possibilities of experiencing and enjoying plant-based food.
